**Job Description**
The University of Maine System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Title IX Compliance Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and investigating complaints of sex discrimination, including sexual harassment and assault. You will also assist in developing and implementing policies, training, and outreach programs to promote a safe and inclusive campus environment.
This role requires strong organizational and time management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. You must also have a strong understanding of civil rights laws and regulations, including Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA, and FERPA.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
* Education: Bachelor's degree required
* Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Title IX compliance, student conduct, human resources, or related field
* Knowledge: Familiarity with Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA, FERPA, and other relevant federal and state laws and regulations
* Skills: Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
* Interpersonal: Ability to work effectively with a diverse population; strong conflict resolution and mediation skills; commitment to promoting equity and inclusion
