Job Title: Technical Assistance Specialist, Professional Development for Adult Initiatives

Rhode Island College is seeking a highly skilled Technical Assistance Specialist to join our team at the Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities. This full-time grant-funded position will focus on designing, implementing, and evaluating training and professional development programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality training programs and technical assistance to support the needs of people with IDD and their caregivers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design education and training programs that meet the needs of local and state leadership personnel and advisory boards.
  • Provide project management to ensure timely completion of deliverables and coordination of meetings and events.
  • Disseminate information through various formats, including blogs, newsletters, and conference sessions.
  • Recruit participants for program activities and coordinate event logistics.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as human services, business, education, or psychology.
  • Four years of experience in human services, business, education, evaluation & measurement, public health, psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with people with IDD and their caregivers, as well as knowledge of community living and employment policy and practice issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Multilingual and experience working in culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Direct Support Professionals and other professionals within the disability community.
