Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Arlington Park Veterinary Hospital. As a key member of our practice, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians and technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with patient care and treatment, including monitoring hospitalized pets and preparing patients for surgery.
  • Perform routine in-house laboratory work, including taking and developing radiographs and obtaining blood and stool samples.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including exam rooms, treatment areas, and lab spaces.
Requirements
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred.
  • Ability to work on weekends as required.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS office applications.
