Veterinary Assistant

Arlington Park Veterinary Hospital Ltd is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The Veterinary Technician will assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment, monitor hospitalized pets, maintain inventory, prepare prescriptions, perform routine in-house laboratory work, educate clients regarding veterinary care and procedures, and assist with surgical procedures.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members. A strong attention to detail and ability to multitask are essential in this role.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting veterinarians with patient care and treatment
• Maintaining inventory and preparing prescriptions
• Performing routine in-house laboratory work
• Providing client education and support
• Assisting with surgical procedures

Requirements include:

• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to work on weekends as required
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
• Basic math and computer skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
