Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Outcomes Improvement Specialist to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our Patient Safety and Quality Center, you will play a critical role in overseeing day-to-day project management of clinical outcomes improvement for assigned clinical areas, services, or medical staff teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and Analyze Opportunities for Improvement: Utilize clinical data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance clinical outcomes and resource utilization.
  • Facilitate System-Level Clinical Programs: Collaborate with continuous improvement teams to develop and implement process improvement goals and strategies, integrating standards of care, clinical guidelines, and protocols.
  • Provide Education and Support: Serve as a clinical and systems resource, providing education and support to healthcare providers on clinical data, resource utilization, and clinical efficiency.
  • Develop and Maintain Scorecards and Reports: Create and maintain scorecards and reports that drive continuous improvement and provide patient value.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with leadership to optimize the quality and patient safety culture, and assist with ambulatory, post-acute, and regional quality initiatives.
  • Conduct Research and Analysis: Conduct leading practice research on clinical outcomes improvement and safety best practices, and participate in activities supportive of ongoing improvement of medical staff quality.
  • Assist with Database Development: Assist with the evaluation, development, and maintenance of databases necessary for optimum clinical outcomes improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Experience: Three years of clinical experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
