Penn State University is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join our team. As an Industrial Hygiene Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating and controlling workplace health hazards, developing and implementing industrial hygiene programs, and providing technical guidance to University personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and control workplace health hazards, including airborne contaminants, noise, temperature extremes, and ergonomic stressors.
  • Develop and implement industrial hygiene programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and protect the health and safety of University employees.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to University personnel on industrial hygiene practices and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain records related to industrial hygiene programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices to ensure the University's industrial hygiene programs remain current and effective.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in industrial hygiene or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene practices, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification.
  • Experience working in a higher education or research setting.
  • Knowledge of Penn State University's policies and procedures.
