Job Summary

The Senior Helpers - Fairfax team is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Basic Companion. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing exceptional care and support to seniors in their homes.

As a Basic Companion, you will play a vital role in enhancing the overall well-being and quality of life for our elderly clients. You will provide companionship, emotional support, and assistance with daily tasks, promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities
  • Provide transportation to clients as needed
  • Engage in activities and hobbies with clients to promote mental stimulation
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and dishwashing
  • Accompany clients to appointments or activities as needed
  • Assist with basic meal preparation and feeding, as needed
  • Help with medication reminders and monitoring of daily medications
  • Report any changes or concerns regarding clients' health or wellbeing to the appropriate individual
  • Maintain detailed records of daily activities and tasks completed
Requirements
  • MUST have computer knowledge
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with senior or elderly clients preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Basic knowledge of home health care practices and techniques
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
