Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English Instructor to join our team at Master Prep Academy. As a key member of our educational staff, you will be responsible for providing instruction in literature, essay composition, vocabulary, creative writing, reading comprehension, and other core curriculum areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum Development to create and implement lesson plans and curricula that meet the needs of our students.
  • Provide academic support to students in preparation for exams such as the ISEE and TEOSL.
  • Assess student needs and provide extra support in areas where students may be struggling.
  • Lead a classroom of students effectively and work efficiently with students to ensure their success.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Master's degree in Education, English, or a related field from an accredited college or university (preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience as an English/Writing instructor or tutor.
  • Successful track record of helping students with creative writing and preparing students for writing competitions.
  • Knowledgeable with AP English content and tests.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good planning skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Monday - Saturday schedule.
  • Flexible schedule with set hours.
