Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons, ensuring timely and efficient care.
  • Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing, as well as insurance pre-certification and documentation.
  • Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs and assessing and recording patient data.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records, including orders reconciliation and secure messaging.
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
Requirements
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer.
  • MA CERT - Medical Assistant certification required.
  • Active certification/licensure in one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or equivalent Medical Assistant Credential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a physician clinic setting.
  • Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures.
Working Conditions

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief, and death. Ability to wear personal protective equipment and move freely about the facility.

This is a full-time position with regular and predictable attendance required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and stay awake during work hours.
