Job Summary

The City of Allen, TX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for our guests, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook special request items for suites and ensure accuracy of all pre-ordered food before it is delivered to guests.
  • Prepare and cook ala carte orders and for catered functions utilizing prep sheets and ensuring food is prepared per the event rider.
  • Ensure equipment is in proper working order by inspecting the kitchen area for cleanliness and needed repairs and reporting results to the Executive Chef.
  • Ensure staff members follow all applicable laws and ordinances by reviewing and enforcing proper food handling and preparation regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Food Handler's License or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes working evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Working Conditions

The Sous Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and noise. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods is required.
