Skate Arena Attendant

This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to arena patrons and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising on-ice customer skating activities, enforcing rules and regulations, and providing assistance with customer admissions and skate rental.

• Supervise on-ice customer skating activities during public skate sessions and enforce rules and regulations.
• Assist with customer admissions and skate rental.
• Provide first aid in the event of accidents.
• Perform related duties as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent and less than one year of experience in a related field. Relevant experience may include skating, security, patrol, customer service, cashiering, and lifeguarding. You must also be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical.

As a temporary and on-call employee for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, you will not receive a benefits package. However, you will be eligible for the Alaska Supplemental Benefits System, which is in lieu of Social Security and is mandatory. You will contribute 6.13% of your gross wages, matched by the Borough (6.13%), on the present wage base of $132,900.

This is an on-call position that receives no benefits and no guarantee of hours. The schedule for this position will vary based on operational needs, and the hours will be limited to less than 30 per week and 1,000 per 12-month period.
