Under general supervision, you will provide professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national standards and company protocols.

Demonstrating an understanding of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences across various age groups, including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly, is essential.

Compensation is determined by various factors, including education, experience, and certifications.

Nurses with OCN certification may qualify for additional incentive pay after a specified period of employment or upon obtaining certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under physician supervision.
  • Maintain knowledge of drug reimbursement processes and complete all necessary charge forms.
  • Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are secured prior to therapy administration.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use and maintenance of ambulatory infusion pumps, including proper documentation.
  • Facilitate dose adjustments by evaluating patient conditions, reviewing lab results, consulting treatment protocols, and communicating with physicians regarding modifications.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and manage central line catheter devices.
  • Administer medications accurately, ensuring correct product, dosage, route, timing, and technique.
  • Exhibit technical skills in chemotherapy administration, including venipuncture and central line access, and instruct patients and caregivers on home pump usage.
  • Document nursing assessments, patient education, and medication administration in patient records.
  • Communicate pertinent information and interventions to the physician.
  • Triage patient inquiries as necessary and record relevant details in patient charts.
  • Assess patient and family needs, providing educational resources and support.
Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required, with a BSN preferred.

Must possess a valid RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Continuing education requirements must be maintained.

A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required, with oncology experience preferred.
