Job Title: Oncology Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Oncology Nurse to join our team at US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities. As an Oncology Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform baseline assessments on new radiation oncology patients and follow-up patients.
  • Conduct weekly and PRN assessments to monitor patients for side effects of radiation and report changes in patient status to physicians.
  • Respond to patient calls after completion of treatment and perform post-procedure assessments.
  • Implement plans of care in accordance with established standards, guidelines, protocols, and procedures.
  • Complete admission assessments for patients scheduled for radiation therapy.
  • Coordinate and participate in immediate effective management of emergencies.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Evaluate and assess patient education and learning needs and provide information to patients/significant others based on these needs.
  • Function as a patient advocate, respecting patients' bill of rights.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.
