We're seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a travel nurse position in Portland, OR. This role requires 1-2 years of acute care experience as a circulating nurse, scrub nurse, and/or RN first assistant.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and medical staff in caring for surgical patients.
  • Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education to patients.

As a circulating OR nurse, you'll work within the operating suite but outside of the sterile field. Scrub OR nurses handle and prepare operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field. Key responsibilities may include:

Circulating OR Nurse Responsibilities
  • Preparing instruments for specific surgical procedures.
  • Monitoring and observing patients during surgery.
  • Responding to potential complications alongside the physician.
Scrub OR Nurse Responsibilities
  • Accurately handling and preparing operating instruments and equipment.
  • Inventorying surgical items pre- and post-procedure.
RN First Assistant Responsibilities
  • Assisting physicians by delivering direct surgical care.
  • Helping to control bleeding.
  • Suturing patients following surgery.

Successful applicants should be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. RNs should be able to easily lift 20 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Requirements
  • BLS certification.
  • 2 years of experience.
