We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech to join our Same Day Surgery team at Northwestern Medicine. As a Patient Care Tech, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Responsibilities- Perform basic patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring, blood glucose measurements, and intake/output recording, under the supervision of an RN.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
- Assist with maintaining patient room cleanliness and organization.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to function under stressful situations.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to prioritize and complete unit work efficiently.
- Serve as a liaison between patient care units and other departments.
- Answer phone calls and communicate information to staff, family, and patients in a polite and professional manner.
- Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician certification.
- CPR - Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, push/pull 50 pounds, and perform other physical demands of the job.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program or Phlebotomy course.
