Position Overview
Hamilton College is seeking a dedicated scholar for the role of Lecturer in Old Testament Studies within the Department of Biblical Studies. This position is aimed at individuals who are passionate about the Old Testament and possess a strong academic background.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree and demonstrate a robust portfolio of published research along with teaching experience in the field. Experience in instructing courses such as Introduction to Old Testament, Biblical Hebrew (both introductory and advanced levels), and Hebrew exegesis is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Teaching across various degree programs, including M.Div., M.A.C.E.F., M.A.T.S., M.A.T, M.T.E., Th.M., and Ph.D.
- Offering required courses and a diverse selection of electives that align with the mission of Hamilton College and the needs of the Department.
- Maintaining an active and distinguished research agenda.
- Supervising graduate students and mentoring individuals across all degree programs.
- Participating in faculty committees, meetings, and community programs.
- Engaging actively in the life of the college community.
