Job Summary:

The LPN Medplus will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and provide nursing care to medical, surgical, or orthopedic patients. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides nursing care according to medical regimen and standards of care.
  • Collects key information from patients, families, laboratory, and medical reports.
  • Administers medication and performs therapeutic nursing interventions as ordered by physicians.
  • Assists physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare team members with interventions, procedures, and examinations.
  • Performs vital sign monitoring, collects and labels specimens, and assists with hygiene needs.
  • Collaborates with the forensic team and security to provide a safe environment for patients in custody.
  • Provides support to nursing and other ancillary personnel to complete initial and ongoing assessments of patients and provide clinical assistance as needed.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a LPN school/program.
  • Qualified by education, training, or experience to work with various patient populations.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of TN.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Additional license/certification may be required based on area of assignment.
  • At least 1 year experience in patient care as obtained through completion of a LPN program.
Physical Demands:

The LPN Medplus role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling are also required. The role involves frequent use of hands, fingers, and feet, as well as repetitive motions and eye-hand-foot coordination.
