Position Summary:

The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction initiatives within the Travel Services division from the initial planning stages through to completion. This role encompasses the planning, direction, and management of construction operations to guarantee that projects are delivered on schedule, within financial constraints, and adhere to safety and quality standards.

The Construction Manager will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, architects, airport authorities, and the Plum Market leadership team, to ensure the effective execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate detailed project plans, encompassing timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.
  • Oversee daily project and construction operations.
  • Coordinate efforts with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and trade partners.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and any modifications.
  • Conduct bid assessments and interviews for contractor selection.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Create and maintain construction schedules using construction management software.
  • Facilitate and coordinate design, progress, and construction meetings.
  • Review and validate contractor and consultant invoices.
  • Assist in RFP preparation, proposal assessments, and contracting procedures.
  • Engage with municipal and regulatory officials for necessary entitlements and permits.
  • Track project schedules, progress, and contractor insurance compliance.
  • Inspect construction sites to ensure completion and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 4-7 years of experience in a Construction Manager role is preferred.
  • Exceptional planning and time management abilities.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Understanding of development and construction principles, including design phases, delivery methods, and project management.
  • Aptitude for managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality standards in construction.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as required.
