We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory, including specimen processing, testing, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and complete documentation to ensure the laboratory is inspection-ready at all times.
- Develop and implement processes for supply ordering and inventory management.
- Collaborate with the laboratory IT team to ensure accurate and efficient testing interfaces.
- Provide continuing education and procedural updates for staff and medical technology students.
- Represent the Medical Laboratory on various UPH initiatives and committees.
- Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or a related science.
- 3-5 years of experience as a working MT in a medical laboratory.
- Certification as a MT (ASCP) or the National Certification Agency.
- Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
- Knowledge and experience in EXCEL 2010 Spreadsheets.
- Knowledge and experience in PowerPoint.
- Knowledge and experience in Lawson and Sunquest programs.
