Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Cell Therapy Laboratory and Blood Bank Department.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday with a rotating schedule every 3rd weekend and holiday, and on-call every 4th weekend. The successful candidate will perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties, utilizing scientific principles and technical expertise to ensure accurate and timely results.
Responsibilities:
* Perform clinical laboratory tests and procedures in the Cell Therapy Laboratory and Blood Bank Department
* Utilize scientific principles and technical expertise to ensure accurate and timely results
* Maintain quality control and quality assurance standards in the laboratory
* Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and procedures
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of a NAACLS-accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program, or a Bachelor's degree and one to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist
* Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist from the ASCP or AMT within 12 months of hire date
