Position Overview:

The Accounting Policy Analyst will be responsible for ensuring adherence to United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role involves providing transaction-focused accounting and reporting support, including the formulation of accounting policies and the drafting of technical accounting documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the periodic closing and reporting processes related to revenue, contingency accruals, share-based payment compensation, derivatives, and other non-standard transactions.
  • Engage in the evaluation of company-wide accounting policies, emerging accounting standards, and relevant financial reporting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with external auditors on complex and technical accounting matters.
  • Contribute to the overall system of internal controls and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming financial accounting and reporting requirements.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with US GAAP or SEC reporting, preferably within a public company or public accounting environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with revenue recognition and accounting practices specific to publicly traded government contractors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
