We are in search of a highly motivated and innovative Systems Engineer to contribute to the Tomahawk Weapon System. In this role, you will collaborate with personnel from APL, government entities, and other contractors to evaluate existing performance and guide system evolution. As a vital member of our team, you will assist in defining, designing, integrating, testing, and assessing both current and future missile and weapon control system functionalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct systems engineering tasks including the development of requirements, system architecture, and interface specifications, as well as performing trade studies and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with government sponsors, industry partners, academic institutions, and government laboratories to perform research, trade studies, and engineering analyses aimed at identifying and implementing promising emerging technologies for advanced weapon systems.
  • Effectively articulate proposed concepts and analytical findings to our sponsors.
  • Generate comprehensive reports that consolidate concept definitions, requirements, analytical results, and technical recommendations.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Operations Research/Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in systems engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in early concept development and conducting assessments that consider cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineering teams, testing facilities, and/or sponsors to execute development testing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with sponsor representatives.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to collaborate with prime contractors and government laboratories; approximately two to three days per month.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and ultimately secure a Secret level clearance. Eligibility requires U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Operations Research/Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience with Planning, Programming and Budgeting, Acquisition Process/Lifecycle, Research and Development, and Test and Evaluation of Department of Defense Systems.
  • Five or more years of professional experience in weapon system engineering.
  • Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts and practices to complex systems development.
  • Possession of an active Top Secret clearance or higher.
