Truck Driver CDL A OTR Solo Job Description

Ryder is seeking a qualified Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. As a solo driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to all 48 states and Canada, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Loading and unloading freight, or assisting in the loading/unloading process as required
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
Requirements:
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide a valid Class A CDL and endorsements for the position
  • At least 9 months of verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle within the past 3 years, or 2 years of experience within the last 5 years, or 5 years of experience within the last 10 years
