About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a key member of our customer service team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their needs are met, and resolving any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, or other communication channels, providing timely and accurate information to resolve customer issues.
  • Utilize computer systems and databases to research and resolve complex customer issues, working collaboratively with internal teams to ensure seamless resolution.
  • Schedule appointments for patients, updating demographics and ensuring accurate information is maintained.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our products, plans, and benefits to provide informed and empathetic support to customers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service environment, utilizing phones and computers as primary job tools.
  • Proficiency in computer navigation and ability to learn new and complex computer system applications.
  • Ability to type at an average speed of 40+ WPM.
  • Flexibility to work any 8-hour shift schedule during normal business hours, with occasional overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of prior healthcare experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
Soft Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, build rapport, and respond to customers in a compassionate manner.
  • Proficient conflict management skills to resolve issues in a stressful situation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot IT/computer issues independently.
