- Prepare construction cost estimates with guidance from firm management, researching appropriate unit prices and quantities for specified materials.

- Align project scope, design, drawings, details, materials, and assemblies with the project budget, notifying the Project Manager of any discrepancies.

- Document and understand existing conditions for remodeling and addition projects, developing solutions in design and construction documents.

- Master the computer software necessary to fulfill project assignments.

- Manage construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews, on-site observations, field reports, change order assessments, payment application reviews, and communication with owners and contractors.

- Edit and create specifications to meet project and budgetary requirements, ensuring coordination with code standards and selected materials.

- Participate in firm management activities such as standards development and documentation.

- Engage in business development activities, including project interviews with potential clients, which may occur during evenings or weekends.

- Attend client meetings and presentations, which may also be scheduled during evenings or weekends.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or architectural studies.

- 5-8 years of progressive architectural experience within an architectural firm, covering all phases of non-residential projects, with at least two years in public sector projects such as recreation, municipal, library, K-12, or higher education.

- State of Illinois architecture license required (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).

- Proficiency in Revit is essential; experience with Lumion, Enscape, and/or SketchUp modeling/rendering is highly desirable.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management abilities.

- Experience and interest in business development are highly desirable.

- Ability to interact professionally with office leadership and clients.

- Capability to self-manage tasks from initiation to completion with minimal oversight.

Interested candidates should submit a resume and work samples that showcase their professional experience in both design phase activities and construction document production.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive compensation, the option to work remotely on Fridays, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, fifteen paid vacation days annually, ten paid sick/personal days per year, ten paid holidays per year, and eligibility for the firm's profit-sharing plan.
