Overview

The Children's Regional Hospital at Cooper University Hospital is a pediatric facility comprising various units catering to the diverse needs of pediatric patients: Pediatric unit, Pediatric Intermediate unit (PIMU), Pediatric Kostic Infusion Room (PKIR), and Pediatric Intensive Care unit (PICU).

We provide care for pediatric patients aged 0 to 18 years and offer subspecialty services through consultation and referral in areas such as Endocrinology, Genetics, Infectious Diseases, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology, Otolaryngology, Pediatric Surgery, Trauma, and Hematology.

Our interdisciplinary care team conducts daily family-centered rounds, including physicians, professional nursing services, child life specialists, social services, and nutrition support.

All pediatric units are secured with restricted access for staff, and visitors gain entry via monitored access. Pediatric patients wear security tags to ensure their safety. Our facilities include a teen room, a spacious playroom for younger patients, and a family waiting room.

Job Summary

The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. They supervise and provide care to these patients using the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate openly with internal customers and supervisors.
  • Provide excellent customer service, interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.

  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements

Must be competent in 3 women and children's units and have at least 2 years of RN experience.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing.

License/Certification Requirements:

  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse);
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers);
  • Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS).
