Job Summary

Piedmont Healthcare PA is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography procedures and working closely with our team to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality mammography procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with ultrasound technologists and radiologists to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Utilize computer applications for charging, scanning, and image management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Be flexible with scheduling needs and adapt to changing priorities.
Requirements
  • Greets patients, verifies identifiers, and obtains patient history.
  • Positions patients, adjusts equipment, and sets exposure factors for optimal image quality.
  • Critiques images for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability.
  • Delivers images to radiologists for reading and interpretation.
  • Follows safety standards and provides proper shielding for patients and staff.
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment after each use.
Education and Experience
  • Completed accredited course in radiologic technology or Associate's Degree in radiologic technology.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Mammography registration preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in radiology imaging modalities, with one year of mammography experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment and testing.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards related to mammography.
  • Ability to properly position patients for high-quality images.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and train colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
  • Medical offices and mammography exam rooms.
  • Exposure to radiation and communicable diseases.
Physical and Mental Demands
  • Requires full body motion and ability to lift/carry/move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires 20/20 correctable vision.
