Piedmont Healthcare PA is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography procedures and working closely with our team to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality mammography procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with ultrasound technologists and radiologists to ensure seamless patient care.
- Utilize computer applications for charging, scanning, and image management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Be flexible with scheduling needs and adapt to changing priorities.
- Greets patients, verifies identifiers, and obtains patient history.
- Positions patients, adjusts equipment, and sets exposure factors for optimal image quality.
- Critiques images for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability.
- Delivers images to radiologists for reading and interpretation.
- Follows safety standards and provides proper shielding for patients and staff.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment after each use.
- Completed accredited course in radiologic technology or Associate's Degree in radiologic technology.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Mammography registration preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience in radiology imaging modalities, with one year of mammography experience preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of radiologic equipment and testing.
- Knowledge of safety hazards related to mammography.
- Ability to properly position patients for high-quality images.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and train colleagues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Medical offices and mammography exam rooms.
- Exposure to radiation and communicable diseases.
- Requires full body motion and ability to lift/carry/move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires 20/20 correctable vision.
