The Director of Nursing is a key leadership position at American Addiction Centers, responsible for overseeing the medical department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage all aspects of the medical department, including medical services, staff supervision, and vendor contracts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, licensing requirements, and company policies.
- Supervise and monitor medical providers and nursing staff to ensure accurate medical documentation and care delivery.
- Regularly inspect medical charts to ensure compliance with quality assurance and quality improvement standards.
- Meet with multi-disciplinary leaders to report concerns, problems, and progress.
- Uphold licensure and credentialing policies and procedures, particularly in relation to medical treatment.
- Work with the onsite pharmacist or contract pharmacist to oversee medication management and destruction.
- Recommend and ensure regulatory staffing patterns and manage the annual budget.
- Ensure timely coverage of shifts and staff involvement in medical treatment, admission, and census processes.
- Implement and monitor medical utilization review functions and requirements.
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures as needed.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to supervisory personnel to maximize managerial performance.
- Manage direct reports, prepare performance evaluations, and provide objective feedback.
- BSN degree and at least 10 years of experience as a registered nurse, with 5 years in a management, supervisory, or director-level role in a treatment facility or hospital setting.
- Three to five years of addiction experience preferred.
- RN license in the state of practice.
- Certification in addiction preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
