Plumbing Estimator

Bayonet Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning is seeking a skilled Plumbing Estimator to join our team. This role involves evaluating bid specifications, analyzing construction plans, and preparing estimates for new construction plumbing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates for residential and commercial plumbing projects
• Utilize Excel-based estimating software to streamline the bidding process
• Assist in preparing project-specific proposal documents
• Communicate with branch managers, coordination staff, and estimating staff to ensure project scope and budget alignment
• Analyze site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope
• Develop relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to obtain accurate pricing
• Work closely with other departments to ensure proper transfer of proposals, plans, and documents
• Prepare diagrams or schematics for builder permit packages as needed
• Coordinate with estimating staff to complete department duties

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel
• Ability to read and interpret information from blueprints and change orders
• Proficiency in designing and producing project material takeoff
• Preliminary design work is necessary to complete estimates; proficiency in plumbing design is required
• Ability to interpret purchase orders
• Self-motivated and punctual individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent follow-up skills, both internally and externally
• 2+ years of previous plumbing experience is highly desired
