Magellan Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Home Visitor to join our team. As a Home Visitor, you will play a critical role in supporting young military families with children from birth to 3 years old. Your expertise will help families build strong, nurturing relationships and provide a safe environment for their children to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Provide home-based support services to families with children at risk of child maltreatment and/or family violence.
- Assess developmental milestones and refer families to community resources as needed.
- Strengthen parental capacity for problem-solving, building trusting relationships, and seeking help when necessary.
- Promote developmentally appropriate parenting skills and disciplinary techniques.
- Facilitate community networks to build positive relationships and reduce social isolation.
- Develop relationships with local community and military installation officials to maximize program effectiveness.
- Utilize community-based services and formal and informal community networks to provide concrete support for families in crisis.
- Screen for, assess, and address protective and risk factors associated with child abuse and neglect using a strengths-based family-centered developmental approach.
- Keep tracking systems up to date with case status.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and annual training events.
- At least two (2) years of direct work experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, maternal or child health, or medical social work.
- Current and active license as an LCSW, LMFT, or RN.
- Home visitation experience.
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Working knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel programs.
- Ability to communicate and interact with others, both in person and/or by telephone.
- Working under time pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to travel as needed and adhere to AFSC travel policies and procedures.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
- Experience working with military families.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.
