Job Title: Child & Youth Therapist (Play Therapist)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Child & Youth Therapist (Play Therapist) to join our team at Patient Centered Services LLC. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and transitional age youth (ages 4-15) in a clinical and community setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, intake evaluations, and behavioral health screenings for children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement person-centered treatment plans to address the mental and emotional needs of clients.
  • Provide individual, family, and play therapy to children, adolescents, and transitional age youth.
  • Utilize evidence-based psychotherapy methods to treat clients with a variety of mental health concerns, including trauma, anxiety, and behavioral issues.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, family members, and interdisciplinary staff to optimize client care and improve treatment outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • DC professional license (LICSW, LGSW, LPC, LGPC, Psychology Associate, or Licensed Psychologist).
  • At least 1 year of experience in providing child/adolescent counseling, including assessments, diagnoses, crisis management, skill training, and rehabilitation supports.
  • Experience with facilitating access to community resources and conducting therapeutic groups.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapy practices and the ability to apply them in a clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with play therapy techniques, particularly for children aged 4-15.
  • Familiarity with coordinating care between multiple stakeholders, including schools, community organizations, and healthcare providers.

Work Environment:

This role involves work in both clinical and community settings, providing therapy services to children and adolescents.

Physical Demands:

This role may require prolonged periods of sitting and working directly with children, as well as light physical tasks when engaging in play therapy.
