Responsibilities

This role reports to the Director of Surgical Services and is responsible for the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of surgical patients. The successful candidate will provide nursing care to patients, maintain standards of nursing practice, and supervise OR Technicians. Intraoperative assistance, patient positioning, and directing other surgical team members are also key responsibilities.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2 years of perioperative practice experience
  • Experience in both scrub and circulating RN roles
  • California RN License
  • CNOR certification
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • PALS certification within 6 months of hire
  • Basic computer knowledge, including EHR and Google
  • Special training in RNFA credentialing
  • Cross-training to all periop roles within 6 months of hire
  • Knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique

Preferred qualifications include 3 years of perioperative practice experience, previous first assist experience, and experience in CVOR, Ortho, Neuro, General, Robotics, GYN, Advanced Endoscopy, Hybrid procedures, and urology. BSN, CRNFA, ATLS, ONC, CFPN, CPPS, and CV-BC certifications are also desirable.
