Position Overview:

The Facilities Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and repair of all facilities within the operational area, serving as a key point of contact during emergency situations that may disrupt business functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for staff to report any facility-related concerns, including climate control, odors, spills, damages, and maintenance emergencies.
  • Oversee and manage the facilities maintenance request system to ensure timely responses.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and collaborate with external vendors to guarantee adherence to specifications.
  • Assist in maintaining building security and respond promptly to any emergencies.
  • Support the preparation of maintenance schedules, preventive maintenance tasks, and operational routines.
  • Regularly check and replace light bulbs in all assigned facilities as required.
  • Conduct minor plumbing and painting repairs as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist with departmental relocations and employee moves.
  • Perform basic electrical tasks and assess when professional electrical services are necessary.
  • Dismantle and install furniture, cubicle walls, and warehouse shelving.
  • Transport materials using powered industrial trucks.
  • Execute scheduled cleaning tasks to maintain a tidy environment.
  • Possess the ability to become certified and proficient in operating forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Completion of a trade school certificate or equivalent experience in maintenance, plumbing, or electrical fields.
  • 1-2 years of experience in construction or facilities maintenance.
  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Office) and capable of using a PC or monitor.
  • Demonstrated understanding of facilities operations and procedures.
