PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carpet Care; Perform thorough shampooing of carpets using various cleaning machines, excluding designated areas. Execute spot cleaning and gum removal with appropriate chemicals and equipment.
Surface Maintenance; Strip, wax, and buff a range of surfaces, both interior and exterior, utilizing specialized tools. Conduct spot cleaning of upholstery and maintain cleanliness of public area furnishings. Relocate furniture and equipment as necessary to fulfill assigned duties.
Window Maintenance; Ensure cleanliness of glass surfaces, mirrors, frames, and tracks in public spaces.
Specialized Tasks; Engage in high cleaning projects, escalator cleaning, light bulb replacements, and snow removal. Apply ice melt or sand on steps and sidewalks as needed. Respond to bio-hazard situations and disinfect areas accordingly.
Perform all Utility Porter duties as required, including:
Cleaning restrooms and public areas, trash collection, and office cleaning when necessary.
Report maintenance issues promptly.
Adhere to hotel policies and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of facilities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in spoken and written English to effectively communicate with guests and colleagues.
Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as extractors, buffers, wet vacuums, escalator cleaners, and floor scrubbers.
Ability to understand product labeling instructions to ensure safe usage of cleaning products.
Maintain alertness throughout shifts and remain composed during emergencies.
Follow supervisor instructions diligently.
Exhibit consistent attendance in line with hotel standards.
Present a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years old. Availability to work various shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends as required by business needs.
Participate in meetings to stay informed about new policies, procedures, and to address scheduling or departmental concerns.
This position may involve performing a combination of tasks based on the specific needs of the hotel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
