Grants Officer Job Description

PeopleShare Inc is seeking an experienced Grants Officer to support a mission-driven human services nonprofit organization in Philadelphia.

  • Job Summary: The Grants Officer is responsible for researching, preparing, submitting, and managing grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new government, foundation, and private funding grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs.
  • Develop and write high-quality grant proposals, narratives, applications, budgets, and supporting documents in response to solicitations.
  • Ensure all proposals are submitted in accordance with grantor requirements and deadlines.
  • Oversee the administration of awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements and conditions.
  • Maintain detailed records of grant schedules, grant submissions, awards, and reporting schedules.
  • Coordinate and follow up on progress of submitted proposals.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to grantors on the progress and outcomes of funded programs.
  • Work closely with appropriate personnel, program managers, and the finance team to gather the necessary information for proposals and reports.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with current and potential funders.
  • Represent the organization at meetings with funders and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to grant-funded programs to measure outcomes and impact.
  • Ensure that data collection and reporting practices meet the requirements of funders and organizational standards.
  • Assist in developing and implementing grant strategy to increase funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the development team to support general fundraising activities, including donor outreach and event planning.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans to enhance the organization's overall funding and sustainability.
  • Stay informed on current veteran issues, trends, and best practices in grant writing and fundraising within the non-profit sector.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong research skills and the ability to identify and pursue new funding opportunities.
