The role of the Trust & Estate Senior Specialist is pivotal within Capital Group International Inc.'s Private Client Services division.

Trust & Estate Senior Specialist

Capital Group International Inc. has a rich history of providing exceptional wealth management services, managing substantial assets for a select clientele of high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and foundations.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Service and Estate Planning
  • Collaborate with nationwide teams to deliver insightful and strategic planning solutions tailored for clients.
  • Engage in both virtual and face-to-face meetings with clients and their advisors to discuss a comprehensive range of financial, tax, and estate planning strategies.
  • Analyze and summarize estate planning documents, providing feedback and insights as necessary.
  • Identify and address potential challenges and opportunities in estate planning and transfer tax matters.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for internal teams and external advisors regarding estate planning inquiries.
  • Assist in managing estate planning related to company stock and work closely with the in-house legal team to mitigate risks.
Fiduciary Responsibilities
  • Act as an officer in the trust company, collaborating with Trust Officers on new appointments and ongoing trust administration.
  • Review trust documents to ensure compliance with fiduciary standards.
  • Work with colleagues and external advisors to navigate fiduciary procedures and resolve client issues.
  • Participate in trust company committees and oversee interactions with outside legal counsel as needed.
  • Provide insights on state-specific laws and fiduciary practices.
Business Development
  • Partner with internal teams to support business growth initiatives, including strategic meeting preparation.
  • Attend client meetings to foster relationships and explore new business opportunities.
  • Build connections with external professionals to enhance business development efforts.
  • Represent Capital Group at industry events and contribute to marketing and training materials.
Professional Growth
  • Engage in Bar Association activities and professional organizations to enhance knowledge and maintain professional relationships.
  • Contribute articles to professional publications as appropriate.
  • Stay informed on industry trends through continuous education and participation in relevant events.

The Trust & Estate Senior Specialist will travel as necessary for client meetings and industry engagements.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in trusts and estates law, either in a law firm or in-house setting.
  • A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with active membership in a State Bar Association.
  • Preferred qualifications include an L.L.M. in taxation or certification as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law.
  • Familiarity with capital markets and investment strategies is advantageous.
