We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Supervisor to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for providing supervisory coverage to the nursing unit and other patient care areas.
Key Responsibilities- Manage personnel to ensure the availability of a skilled and competent workforce to meet patient care needs.
- Advises the Director/Manager on hiring, retention, interviewing, and recruitment of staff.
- Functions as a staff role model by promoting cooperative problem-solving, individual and group goal orientation, and fostering team building through individual coaching and counseling.
- Performs ongoing written goal setting, peer review, and performance reviews according to hospital policy.
- Assists staff in nursing and other departments to resolve problems that impact the delivery of patient care during off-shifts.
- Engages in fiscal activities to ensure the availability of supplies, equipment, and human resources to meet patient care needs.
- Maintains effective communication with staff, patients, and other departments to assure identification of problems and provide problem resolution.
- Two years' experience in the area of practice.
- Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or appropriate state board.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
- Three years' nursing experience preferably in a hospital setting.
