Job Title: Painter

Edmond Public Schools is seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the appearance and preservation of our facilities.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying latex, solvent, lacquer, and epoxy coatings to various surfaces. They will also schedule facilities for routine painting needs, recommend coatings and supplies, and estimate costs for painting projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply coatings to surfaces using various techniques and equipment.
  • Schedule facilities for routine painting needs and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Recommend coatings and supplies to meet the district's needs.
  • Estimate costs for painting projects and procure materials as needed.
  • Keep accurate records and maintain inventory of supplies used.
  • Communicate effectively with the maintenance supervisor and other team members.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that is acceptable to the school's insurance carrier.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public.
Working Conditions:

The work environment is typically indoors, but may require occasional work outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

The successful candidate will be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and work in a moderate to loud noise level environment.
