Position Overview:
The VIRGINIA Class Program is expanding to facilitate innovative future designs and ongoing support for construction-authorized vessels. This dynamic and demanding program office seeks proactive contributors to achieve overarching objectives. This role presents a distinctive opportunity to aid in the advancement of essential warfighting technologies and systems critical to national defense.
As part of the Program Office, you will gain exposure to various aspects of the Electric Boat enterprise, including Design and Engineering, Operations, Planning, Finance, Contracts, Construction, Facilities, and Navy stakeholders. You will face new challenges that allow you to apply your expertise in innovative ways. The Program Office establishes the fundamental goals for a program, extending beyond typical milestones. Through this office, you will engage in a balanced mix of tactical and strategic planning that influences the future designs of vessels. The Program Office serves as the initial line of defense against changes and disruptions, being the first organization consulted for solutions to issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and coordinate meetings to showcase progress, challenges, and resolution strategies for program tasks and orders.
- Prepare and review technical and programmatic documentation for the Navy.
- Develop and present briefs to Navy representatives, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Groton (SSGR), or various levels of Electric Boat Management.
- Analyze VIRGINIA program metrics, identify issues, and manage necessary corrective actions.
- Oversee contracts to effectively address and resolve programmatic funding challenges.
- Manage subcontractor development efforts to ensure alignment of team activities, budgets, and funding to support program execution.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business, or a minimum of 2 years of experience in project or program management.
Preferred:
- Experience in project management.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with government contracts.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Experience collaborating in both technical and business departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Contracts, and Program Finance.
