Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with clients, including governmental entities, public housing authorities, and other organizations, to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Perform complex tasks utilizing client records and other pertinent material to identify areas of risk and ensure compliance.
  • Supervise the daily activities of the audit engagement and review the work of junior and staff auditors for accuracy and compliance.
  • Obtain sufficient relevant data to afford a reasonable basis for conclusions or recommendations in relation to all services provided to clients.
  • Ensure that the engagement has been properly planned, that documentation provides sufficient evidence, and that financial statements are free of material misstatements.
  • Make recommendations for improving internal controls and facilitate the audit process through effective communication with clients.
  • Prepare written reports and make presentations to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Working on or have completed requirements for CPA license.
  • Understanding of principles, practices, methods, and theories of auditing standards and accounting standards.
  • Working knowledge of GASB, Yellow-Book, and Uniform Guidance Standards.
  • Knowledgeable of laws, ordinances, regulations, and statutes that govern audit functions.
