Cafeteria Assistant Substitute Job Description

The Cafeteria Assistant Substitute is responsible for ensuring the timely preparation of food to be served, adhering to applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards. This involves following established food production programs and procedures, as well as ensuring the appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain skills necessary to safely and efficiently operate cafeteria equipment and machines
  • Preparation of food served using established production procedures and guidelines
  • Store food properly and safely by dating items
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance
  • Learn all details of each position in the cafeteria
  • Maintain cleanliness and follow all Health Department guidelines
Requirements:
  • Possess proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
  • Have the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
  • Complete requirements for in-service training and dress code requirements
  • Have a servant's heart
  • Have a willingness to learn
  • Assist in an entire team effort
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Constant bending, twisting, lifting, and pulling
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time
