Job Summary

Marine Spill Response Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Oil Spill Response Technician to join our team. As a key member of our response team, you will be responsible for operating and supporting all phases of oil spill response equipment, performing routine and preventative maintenance, and participating in deployment, retrieval, cleaning, and storage of oil boom and sorbent materials.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in oil spill clean-up activities, including deployment, retrieval, cleaning, and storage of oil boom and sorbent materials.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and inspections on response equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Operate small boats, utilizing navigation and radar equipment to navigate safely and efficiently.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • In the event of a customer-required spill or drill, report to assigned worksite location within a 2-hour recall notice, and work up to 14 consecutive days, if needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Successful background check, drug screen, and pre-hire medical exam.
  • Possess or ability to obtain a TWIC card and Passport, US Coast Guard MMC, and complete the 40 Hour HAZWOPER training (provided upon hire).
  • Ability to travel as needed, including oil spill/drill responses.
  • USCG 100 Ton License preferred.
