Position Summary:


The Senior Grants Financial Analyst will be accountable to the Director of Grants Administration, delivering essential analytical support to the Grants Department.

This role involves assisting the Grants Department in tracking budgetary performance against actual expenditures for various programs, along with additional responsibilities as assigned.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the development, renewal, and oversight of contract budgets.
  • Evaluate year-to-date financial outcomes of the programs.
  • Create financial models to forecast revenue and expenditure projections.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure accurate setup of grants within financial systems for effective tracking of expenditures.
  • Maintain precise records of the Profit & Loss and related Balance Sheet accounts, regularly reviewing expense allocations for accuracy.
  • Support the implementation and testing of new ERP systems or upgrades to existing systems.
  • Manage contract and budget renewals across various funding sources.
  • Prepare and submit claims while supervising grant managers in the claims process, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights to the Director, VP of Grants Administration, and CFO.
  • Oversee the daily operations of Grant Managers and act as team supervisor in the absence of the Director.
  • Handle audit inquiries and prepare responses for any issues raised during funder audits.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in social services.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including model creation and complex formula usage.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics – NAV is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and planning applications.
