Position Overview:

As an Advanced Field Technician II, you will play a crucial role in supporting various MK 41 VLS clients, contributing to projects that are both challenging and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, install, maintain, and repair electronic, mechanical, and other types of components and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the VLS Team to ensure that all contracted VLS tasks are executed according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Identify and rectify any deficiencies in the system in conjunction with the VLS Team.
  • Engage with a highly trusted and competitive VLS Team.
  • Support from the VLS Team guarantees that the Fleet and Program are upheld to the highest standards.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in USN Shipboard MK 41 VLS maintenance.

Technical Skills Required:

Ability to assist in the removal, overhaul, testing, and installation of VLS Cell Hatches, Uptake Hatches, Deluge Valves, Deluge Hoses, Marotta Valves, Hy-Check Valves, and Root and Isolation System Valves under the supervision of a qualified VLS System Maintenance Technician or Test Director, in compliance with NAVSEA requirements, Navy MRCs, VLS Authorized Procedures, and Technical Manuals.

Security Clearance: Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance and a DBIDS/CAC.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Problem-solving, effective communication, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarity with basic hand/power tools, test equipment, and gauge calibration.

Physical requirements include heavy lifting and prolonged standing on naval deck plates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MK-41 VLS NEC certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
