Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Dentist to lead our dental health program at the Wanblee Health Clinic. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and administering a comprehensive dental health program that meets the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the day-to-day clinical functions of the dental clinic, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of dental services.
  • Provide professional dental care to patients, including routine check-ups, fillings, extractions, and other dental procedures.
  • Manage the work schedules of subordinate staff, including dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.
  • Advise on personnel matters related to the dental staff, including recruiting, hiring, and training.
  • Maintain the dental budget, ensuring that expenditures are within allocated limits.
  • Orient new staff members and provide support staff training to ensure a smooth transition.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, performing duties such as coordinating clinical functions, providing professional dental care, managing staff, and maintaining budgets.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, with frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases. The selected candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
