About the Role

We are looking for high-energy, experienced professionals with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills to lead our tax team. As a Tax Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the preparation of tax documentation, training staff on industry-specific business and accounting matters, and identifying tax planning opportunities for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the preparation of tax documentation and work papers to support federal, state, and foreign tax reporting.
  • Train staff on industry-specific business and accounting matters.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities for clients.
  • Prepare and review moderately complex tax returns, identifying issues, errors, omissions, and planning opportunities.
  • Manage people and functions through coaching, decision-making, problem-solving, strategy planning, delegation, leadership, and team building.
  • Provide tax advisory services to clients.
  • Communicate engagement needs to clients.
  • Recognize extended services opportunities.
  • Stay current on professional announcements.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, such as mentoring programs.
  • Present on technical topics for level training.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with clients and staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university (minimum of 150 college credits required).
  • Masters in Taxation is a plus.
  • CPA certification or completion of the CPA exam within a year preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant public accounting experience preferred; experience in tax provision a plus.
  • Strong technical skills in tax preparation and review, tax compliance, agency correspondence, and tax research.
  • Strong communication, research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Proven technical skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Basic technology skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with ProSystem FX Engagement Tax, CCH Axcess, BNA Online, Sureprep, and Go File Room are a plus.
  • Solid organization skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Effective time management, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state tax compliance.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing/tax standards to effectively supervise staff and solve routine engagement problems.
  • Works well under pressure and with a team; able to meet deadlines with accuracy.
