POSITION OBJECTIVE:

In this position, you will engage in a variety of food service tasks, including baking, cooking, and cashiering within a cafeteria environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to):

  • Assisting in the preparation and cooking of food, including handling frozen items, slicing fruits, baking, and monitoring food temperatures.
  • Managing cash transactions, balancing registers, and preparing daily financial reports.
  • Serving and replenishing food supplies as needed.
  • Thoroughly cleaning cafeteria and kitchen areas.
  • Setting up the cafeteria for meal service, ensuring availability of utensils, napkins, and serving items.
  • Assisting with food inventory management and conducting daily counts.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (Typical requirements for this position):

A High School Diploma or G.E.D., along with a minimum of six months of experience in food handling, service, or cashiering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (Typically needed for this role):

Licensing Requirements:

· Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment.

KNOWLEDGE: (Entry-level requirements): Essential knowledge in:

  • Customer service principles;
  • Basic math concepts;
  • Cooking and food preparation equipment;
  • Inventory management;
  • Cash handling;
  • Food preparation techniques;
  • Cleaning and sanitizing methods.

  • Following recipes accurately;
  • Maintaining order among children;

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
