Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Leidos Holding. As a key member of our Digital Modernization Sector, you will play a critical role in supporting our Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) Contract.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced support for operation and maintenance of existing DTRA operational environments, primarily Windows-based. You will design and implement on-prem and cloud application security and delivery solutions across numerous unclassified and classified networks using advanced technologies such as BIG-IP, LTM, DNS/GSLB, APM, IdAM, MFA/PKI, idP & SP, Zero Trust, iRule, and BIG-IQ.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Certificate Authority (CA) solutions to facilitate/sustain DTRA's compliance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Information Assurance (IA) mandates for MFA and future Zero Trust architectures.
  • Design and implement identity management and single sign-on (SSO) solutions for DTRA applications, enabling access to DTRA applications throughout the enterprise and externally.
  • Plan, design, and execute infrastructure and Active Directory domain consolidations and migrations.
  • Develop, maintain, and review system documentation to include implementation plans, system security plans, as-builts, and architectural diagrams as appropriate.
  • Support project managers in the development of project plans, communication plans, and schedules as required.
  • Lead and/or participate in requirements analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Support program management and Chief Technologist in the development of technology roadmaps and enterprise architecture products and artifacts.
  • Conduct market research and develop analyses of alternatives (AoAs) to recommend technology improvements and modernization initiatives.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior engineering staff.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree with 15+ years of experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • 8570 compliant security certification (IAT Level II or higher).
  • Computing Environment Certification (Microsoft/F5 Certification/VCP as appropriate).
  • Experience implementing DoD certificate-based authentication (CAC and alternate tokens) and SSO methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with data storage and migrations using on-prem storage solutions, remote office caching solutions, and cloud data solutions (e.g., OneDrive).
  • Demonstrated or proven professional communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to prepare briefs and documents for an executive level audience with minimal editing or errors.
  • Demonstrated or proven professional customer service skills.
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with DoD server, operating system, and application hardening processes including scanning, vulnerability remediation, and STIG compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Subject Matter Expert (SME) level experience in one or more.
  • Microsoft back office technologies (SQL Server, IIS, Exchange Server, etc).
  • Master's Degree in an Information Technology Discipline.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, and/or Active Directory certifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of and design experience with Windows Active Directory architectures, and experience migrating objects and services between disparate forests/domains.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows scripting technologies (Windows PowerShell).
  • Working knowledge of vBrick webcasting technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge or experience with DISA STIGs and other DoD guidance.
  • Advanced knowledge or experience with DoD systems engineering processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding or proven ability to apply Project Management principles, skills, practices.
  • Advanced experience developing and managing IT requirements (functional and non-functional).
  • Basic experience with Enterprise IT ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy).
  • Advanced knowledge or experience with virtual environments (e.g., VMware), including Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure.
