Job Title: Transportation Technician III - Bridge Inspection

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Technician III - Bridge Inspection to join our team at DRMP. As a key member of our Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) Division, you will be responsible for performing complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documenting contractors' work efforts on a daily basis
  • Preparing project field books and documentation
  • Preparing density log books and documentation
  • Conducting material sampling and testing
  • Assisting with the preparation of final estimates packages
  • Measuring distances to verify the accuracy of construction activity/layout
  • Verifying levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations
  • Observing work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications
  • Obtaining and preparing material samples for laboratory testing
  • Examining workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepting installation
  • Recording quantities of materials received or used during specified periods
  • Maintaining daily logs of construction and inspection activities

Requirements:

  • High school graduate with five (5) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge construction inspection
  • AAS Civil Engineering Technology plus two (3) years of experience; with at least one (1) year of bridge construction inspection experience
  • Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required
  • Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
