Certified Nursing Assistant 2

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Nursing Assistant 2 to join our team in the Emergency Department at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide intermediate patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse, including assisting patients with daily living activities, collecting non-invasive body fluid specimens, and gathering vital signs.
- Work closely with patients to assist with activities of daily living, such as transferring from bed to chair and performing minor physical therapy routines.
- Administer enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic and sitz baths, and apply restraints as needed.
- Perform sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
- Answer patients' call lights and requests promptly and maintain a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff.
- Transport patients and equipment and report patient conditions to the assigned nurse to ensure professional assessment.
- Measure and record food and liquid intake and output, and check and record vital signs.
- Provide patient help with walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed, and perform minor physical therapy routines.
- Collect urine samples, attach EKG leads, and remove catheters as needed.
- Assemble, monitor, and discontinue feeding of intravenous nutrition.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant license.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
